Verla Bohlin Obituary
Verla Bohlin 1913 ~ 2007 Moroni, UT-Verla Edna Nielson Bohlin, 94, passed away peacefully at home May 11, 2007 with her family at her side. She was born in Moroni Jan. 24, 1913 to Niels Erastus and Annie Christensen Nielson. She married Arthur Bohlin on March 1, 1934 in Nephi, UT. He died Feb. 12, 1966. She was an active member of the LDS Church. She was a devoted mother to her children and her family was her greatest joy. She lost her father when she was 9 years old and with her brother age 11 and sisters still at home had to run the family farm to survive. It was a hard life, but she enjoyed life with her family and friends. She liked to try trick riding with their horses. She had a life long love of the outdoors. She was an avid gardener, a wonderful cook and made many beautiful quilts for her family. She had a zest for life and enjoyed going anywhere their was beautiful scenery. She took many vacations with her sons and daughters and delighted in new places and experiences. Her greatest gift to her children was to teach them to really see the beauty to be found all around us. Verla is survived by daughter LaVona B. Neweceral, Salt Lake; Margean B. Thorne (Cesar) Manteno; IL; Sons Lamar Dale Bohlin, Salt Lake; LasVegas; and Lynn Arthur Bohlin, Salt Lake; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren; sister Glenda N. Worthen, Ferron. She was preceded in death by her husband, her son Johnny Arthur Bohlin (age 14), grandson Justin Dale Bohlin (age 20), her parents, nine brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held Saturday May 19, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the Moroni LDS Stake Center. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 11:30-12:30 both at the Moroni LDS Stake Center. The family would like to thank all the loving caring people from IHC and Hospice who made it possible to keep her in her our home and be with her family. Interment in the Moroni City Cemetery under the care of Rasmussen Mortuary.
